WEDDING REPORT Saturday June 27 1936 Weddings. Allen-Simons. A pretty wedding was solemnized at the Methodist Church, Inglewood, on June 17, when Eileen Grace, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Simons, Lincoln Road, was married to William Thomas George, eldest son of Mr. T. J. Allen and the late Mrs. Allen, Cardiff. The Rev. J. M. Blight officiated and Mrs. Blight was at the organ. A hymn, "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden," was sung. A large white wedding bell made by Mrs. J. Young, a friend of the bride was hung over the bridal couple in the church. The bride, who was escorted up the aisle by her father, chose for her wedding gown ivory dull-finished crepe, slimly fitting to the knees, where inset silk lace godets formed afullness. The long sleeves, also
inset with lace, were gathered lightly at the wrists and slightly pouched. The waist was finished with white girdle and the neckline with a diamante clasp and lovers' knots. Tne pretty tulle veil fell softly from a corset of orange blossum and white velvet shoes with touches of silver were worn. Her bouquet was of white roses, chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Miss Rita Simons, as brides maid, and little Shirley Simons as flower girl. The bridesmaid wore a frock of coral pink suede finished crepe, made with
fitting bodice, the round neckline being finished with sleeves were slashed and gathered in above the elbow. The ankle-length skirt, made slim-fitting to the knees was inset with frilled godets, each of which was finished at the top with a small velvet flower. A bandeau of the same flowers was worn and her bouquet was of pink roses hrysanthemums and asparagus fern. The flower girl wore a dainty frock of pale blue chrome crepe, made with short bodice, full puff sleeves, and long full skirt finished at the hemline with three frills. Her bandeau was of pale blue
flowers and she carried a posy of cream roses and forget-me-nots. Mr. Fred Allen attended his brother as best man. A reception was held at Maxwell's tearooms, Inglewood, where about 50 guests assembled. A feature was a wedding cake made by the bride's sister Mrs, S. Hinton. Huiroa. Mrs. Simons wore a wine-coloured frock relieved with fawn and hat and shoes to tone. When Mr. and Mrs. W, Allen left later by car on a honeymoon trip to Auckland and Rotorua, the bride wore frock of brown
afghalaine with touches of orange a brown halo hat. brown coat and shoes.
Mr. and Mrs. W. Allen's home will be at Mata.
