NOTE Stephen Bartlett sent the following information (Mar 2015) In the 1911 census he was living with his mother and sister at 92 Highbury Hill. He had married Clara Cotton in Southwark in 1906 (Jun 1906 Southwark 1d, 11). In 1911 his occupation is given as “Printer” in the census. The 1911 census also reveals that he and Clara had had a child together, but that child had died by 1911. I do not have any information about their lives after 1911.F ii Dora Catherine Savage-4204 was born on 26 Jan 1879 in Towcester, Northamptonshire, England. CENSUS 1901 at Hampstead in London, folio 161, pg 37, scheduyle 215, age 22 a servant in a large household, the other two servants are a house maid and a cook, but I cannot read her specific role. Born Towecester.
NOTE the following information came from Stephen Bartlett (Mar 2015) She married Samuel Allibon (baptised in Hoxton 23 Jul 1882) on 21 June 1909 at Christ Church, Highbury (Jun 1909 Islington 1B, 361) and at the time of the 1911 census they were living at 7 Victoria Road, Romford, Essex (RG 14/?/Sched. 9 - sorry, I failed to note details). Samuel successfully applied for membership of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (application document viewed online on Ancestry.com), which was granted on 22 Jan 1915, at which time he was employed as Assistant Works Manager of the Roneo works in Romford, supervising 400 employees.
Dora died in Romford in 1946 (Sep 1946 Romford 5A, 304) when her age was registered as 62, which is incorrect (should be 67). It was also given incorrectly in the 1911 census (27 instead of 32), and is not given at all on the marriage register entry in 1909. It is unclear why this should be.M iii George Herbert Savage-5097 was born about Sep 1880 in Towcester, Northamptonshire, England. He was christened on 21 Nov 1880 in Tiffield, Northants, England.
CENSUS 1881 from Familysearch. At Tiffield Rd Brickyard House, Towcester, Northampton, England. FHL Film 1341370, PRO Ref. RG11 / 1536, folio 44, Page 6. Age 7 months, birthplace Towcester.
CENSUS 1891 (reported by Walter Savage - email Feb 2005) at Moat Lane, Towcester.
NOTE Stephen Bartlett sent me this information ar 2015). I have not been able to find out anything extra about his life from what is listed on your web page. However, in the 1911 census Esher Elizabeth Savage detailed that she had had six children, two of whom had died by 1911 and I presume that George Herbert was one of those who had died young. Which leaves the question - who was the sixth child ? I believe this was a George Savage who was baptised in Farthingstone, Northants on the 7th March 1875 as his parents are listed as Charles Vincent and Esther Elizabeth Savage in the transcription (see LDS film no 6127458). I believe this child must have died shortly afterwards, but the Farthingstone burial records for that date have not been transcribed at FreeREG, so I cannot check this. There are, however, two possible civil registration records for deaths of children called George Savage during the period (Sep 1875 Daventry 3B, 67, Age 0 and Dec 1876 Northampton 3B, 43, Age 2), so one of these might be correct.F iv Bessie Marguerite Savage-5098 was christened on 5 Aug 1884 in Tiffield, Northants, England.

NOTE Stephen Bartlett sent this additional information (Mar 2015). She married Herman Tas (born in Amsterdam ca. 1874) in Islington in 1908 (Dec 1908 Islington 1B, 596). At the time of the 1911 census they were living at 106B Kilburn High Road (RG 14/627/Sched. 4) and Herman described himself as a “Patent expert and engineer”. I gather from Henry’s letters that despite this grand description he ran a number of shops selling second-hand furniture and paintings etc., which were not successful and that they were kept afloat by his family in Amsterdam who were wealthy. They apparently had a weekend bungalow near Whitstable, where Henry stayed on one occasion as a child. Herman Tas died in 1944 (Jun 1944 Hendon 3A, 568). Three years later, Bessie Marguerite married Samuel Allibon (!), the widower of her elder sister Dora (Dec 1947 Camberwell 5C, 413). Samuel eventually died in 1957 (Sep 1957 Hendon 5E, 370 - Age 75) and Bessie died five years later (Dec 1962 Hendon 5E, 510 - Age 78).F v Annie Georgina (Syl) Savage-5099
