She was widowed when her husband, Albert, went out for a drink on a Saturday. He cadged a lift with a carrier and fell off the cart which then ran over him. He left Martha and 1 daughter.That was in 1878. Martha the married James Lack in 1879 and together they had 5 children, the 4th of whom was my grandmother, Ellen Jane Lack."
