Vincent Sheppard-122 [Parents] was born about 1655. He died in 1717. He married Elizabeth-270.

Other marriages:
Sheppard, Anna

BIRTH my estimate.

KNOWN from memorial to Anna Sheppard his widow. He was at one time of Richmond in Surrey. In her will Anna refers to her sons and daughters in law. I am assuming these are what we would today call step-children as she names Anne Shepard, Mariana Donaldson and Nathaniel Sheppard.

NOTE a legal report (see notes of William Sheppard) says a Vincent Sheppard was High Sheriff for Surrey in 1716, and that Charlotte Sheppard was of the lineal descent from him.

DEATH from his will, matches also wife dying in 1743 as a widow, but also an earlier will of his son made in 1733 when he was already deceased. This will states that he had lived at Richmond, Surrey.

NOTE shown on a listing of the ancestors of Samuel Sheppard prepared by J H Lydall, Solicitor, of Southampton Building, Chancery Lane. He is bracketed together with the G G G Grandfather of Samuel Sheppard as the middle son. Gives the year of death which is followed by the note that his will is dated 1711. He is listed as a Haberdasher.

Elizabeth-270 died in 1711/1715. She married Vincent Sheppard-122.

NOTE known from his will made in 1711. However his will was not probated until 1717, and from the will of Anna Sheppard she appears to be the step-mother of Elizabeth's children. Under present law his remarriage would have rendered his will null and void, but this does not appear to have been the case then.

They had the following children:

M i William Sheppard-220 was born after 1690. He died in 1741 in , London, England.

NOTE in the will of Vincent Sheppard, haberdasher of London with property at Richmond, Surrey, made in 1711 but proven in 1717 he is listed as still not 21 years of age and first beneficiary of the will.

NOTE known from a legal report (see email Val Moore April 2007). He died intestate in 1741, he was a London goldsmith. He appears to have had a brother named John who died in 1729. This William died intestate.

NOTE there is a will written January 1733, proven in April 1746 from which the following information is drawn. He was the son of Vincent who lived at Richmond, Surrey, already deceased in 1733. His sisters were Mariana Donaldson and Anna Sheppard. He is listed as William Sheppard of Symonds Inn, Chancery Lane, Middlesex, Gentleman.
F ii Mariana Mary Elizabeth Sheppard-237
F iii Anna Sheppard-238 was born after 1690. She died after 1733.

NOTE in the will of Vincent Sheppard, haberdasher of London with property at Richmond, Surrey, made in 1711 but proven in 1717 he is listed Anne, as still not 21 years of age and a beneficiary of the will.

NOTE in 1733 she was listed in her brother's will as still unmarried.
  M iv Nathaniel Sheppard-236

Donaldson-239. married Mariana Mary Elizabeth Sheppard-237.

NOTE known from his wife's married name in the will of her brother.

NOTE in the will of Vincent Sheppard, haberdasher of London with property at Richmond, Surrey, made in 1711 but proven in 1717 she is listed as Mary Elizabeth, still not 21 years of age and a beneficiary of the will.
