.
!DEATH date from an e-mail written by Allan Smith which links her as the Mary who married John Tebbutt. He says, "I can't remember exactly where the information came from, but I have it that she died in Wells Township, Marshal, Kansas and is buried in Antisah Cemetery, Kansas. If memory serves me right, I think the information came from Mary McGinnis." Bonnie Feldhausen corrects this to the Antioch Cemetery, Marshall County, Kansas.

NOTE I had her listed as Mary E E Shakeshaft, but can now find no evidence for the two extra initials. Allan Smith also listed her parents as Thomas and Sophia, with no other details, so maybe there are two different Marys. However on the new Family Search R M Cox lists them as her grandparents, though here I have John and Mary Tebbut as paternal grandparents.

John Shakeshaft-20 [Parents] was born about 1750 in ,,England. He was christened on 14 Oct 1750 in Bradwell, Buckinghamshire,England. He died on 10 Dec 1828. He was buried on 14 Dec 1828 in Ashton, Northamptonshire, England. He married Mary Tebbut-19 on 12 Oct 1774 in Bradwell, Buckinghamshire,England.

BIRTH from age at death.

BAPTISM from Buckinghamshire parish records in the church of St Laurence at Bradwell per favour of Frank Shakeshaft (email May 2009). Parents named.

MARRIAGE (1774) from Buckinghamshire parish records in the church of St Laurence at Bradwell per favour of Frank Shakeshaft (email May 2009). Name spelled Shakeshaft in banns but Shackshaft at marriage, both versions are used in baptism of children. He is listed as of Bradwell Abbey in both cases.

NOTE from Frank Shakeshaft (email Dec 2004) . In Old Bradwell, Bucks there was a marriage on 12 Oct 1774 of John Shakeshaft (c 14 Oct 1750) to Mary Tebbutt. They had a son Thomas (c.3 Oct 1778) who lived only two days, a daughter Ann (c.21 Jan 1781). They then disappear from the records and may be the couple who appear in Cosgrove. If so Mary's birth date would need to go back to at least 1758 and this would fit well with other known sibling birth dates. If this is true then John's parents were Francis Shakshaft (stet) and Mary Albright and Mary's parents were Thomas and Ann. However Allan Smith has suggested that Thomas (b.1730) and Sophia may be John's parents, which would make the dates very tight.

DEATH date based on a document in which his sons Thomas and William and the husband of his daughter Sophia take care of his estate as he had died intestate. The date of death is given as 1829 but a marginal comment suggests it should have been 1828. This lists him as late of Hartwell.

BURIAL from Ashton parish records, NRO ref. 17p/9, no. 117. Aged 78, a resident of Roade.

NOTE we cannot be sure that the Baptism, Marriage and Burial records all relate to the same person, but it is a reasonable assumption.

NOTE he is listed on new Family Search with a wife named Mary as father of John Shakeshaft only. There is another record K67X-B95 which has birth and death with my dates and in Ashton for both.

Mary Tebbut-19 was born about 1748 in ,,England. She was buried on 18 May 1819 in Ashton, Northamptonshire, England. She married John Shakeshaft-20 on 12 Oct 1774 in Bradwell, Buckinghamshire,England.
