Ann Smith was born in Burton Latimer Nth (March 1841 Kettering 15 19[0]) - the daughter of John Smith and Susan Munns, and had had a child named George Smith who was born in Bethnal Green three weeks before the 1861 census. Both mother and child were with her parents then. The baby was actually registered as George Marriott Smith b. Bethnal Green Mar 1861 1c 342. After their marriage, the Smith surname was dropped.
