He had been born about 1832, so would be a later child than this one if in this family. She also quotes a letter in North Canterbury (NZ) museum that he went to the gold diggings and lost his money and luck (see email N Williams Oct 2003)..

Lucy I think is the daughter of William & Ann Yeomans as in 1841 her daughter Lucy Rowthorn 1828-1850 is staying with them, unfortunately 1841 doesn’t give relationship but I think it would be their grandchild. Lucy was the eldest of the 8 Rowthorn children so I’m guessing David & Lucy married shortly before or shortly after her birth in 1828. I haven’t found the marriage yet in Parish records but I am still wading through them looking for it."
