F i Mary Mallard Chamberlain-428 was born on 5 Oct 1881 in Blisworth, Northamptonshire, England. She died on 24 Apr 1958. She was buried in Stoke Bruerne, Nothamptonshire, Endland.

NOTE her birth certificate, obtained from the Towcester registry office in 2005 by John Lockley names her as Mary Mallard. Her mother is listed as "Harriett Chamberlain, a lacemaker" and no father is given. Her mother was working as housekeeper for Jabez Mallard, so he was presumably her father.

WORKHOUSE, Towcester, 1884 She was here with her mother. (from John Lockley - email May 2006).

M ii Alfred Mallard Chamberlain-434 was born on 26 Apr 1883 in Blisworth, Northamptonshire, England.

BIRTH from a John Lockley (email July 2005). He obtained a copy of the birth certificate from the Towcester registry office which lists no father, but names the mother as "Harriett Chamberlain, a lacemaker"

BAPTISM from Sally Edwards (email Apr 2006). She names him as Walter Mallard Chamberlain, aged 15 months which fits Alfred.
F iii Sarah Elizabeth Mallard Chamberlain-435 was born on 3 Apr 1884 in Blisworth, Northamptonshire, England. She was christened on 9 Jul 1884 in Blisworth, Northamptonshire, England.

BIRTH from a John Lockley (email July 2005). He obtained a copy of the birth certificate from the Towcester registry office which lists no father, but names the mother as "Harriett Chamberlain, a lacemaker"

BAPTISM from Blisworth parish records. NRO ref. 25p/36. No. 218. Father not mentioned.

WORKHOUSE, Towcester, 1884 She was here with her mother. (from John Lockley - email May 2006).

Age 20, a general servant living in the household of John E Gudgeon.
F iv Minnie Mallard Chamberlain-429 was born on 3 May 1887 in Towcester, Northamptonshire, England. She died on 8 Feb 1974 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.

BIRTH from John Lockley (email March 2005). She was his grandmother. She was born in the Towcester workhouse. I assume that her father was Jabez Mallard for whom her mother was working as housekeeper at the time of the 1881 census. In 2005 he obtained a copy of her birth certificate from the Towcester Registry office and it gives her forenames as Minnie Mallard, no father listed.

NOTE John Lockley lists her as having three sisters, Polly (who married Joseph White - see Mary), Sarah (whom he thinks is Sarah Mallard) and Elsie (aged 7 months in 1881).

WORKHOUSE, Towcester records mention her christening and a note of finding her a position at Woodend in 1898 (from John Lockley - email May 2006). Since her mother had been in the workhouse for three years before she was born, her relationship to Joseph Mallard is questionable.

MARRIAGE from John Lockely (email Apr 2006). She gave her father as John Chamberlain, but her mother had been long separated from him by then. She stated that he was deceased.

DEATH from John Lockely (email Apr 2006)
