KNOWN from plaque to his daughter-in-law.
WILL written 2 Feb 1615/16 and proven 25 Nov 1616. Will names his wife Katherine and four daughters, also the "now eldest son" William and youngest son Richard, but asks for a plaque to his son Lovell, who I am assuming is deceased. At the time of the will all children appear to be under 21.
NOTE Val Moore (email July 2007) reports that he was alive for the visitation of the College of Arms in 1613. His arms had been granted in 1564. His father (or grandfather) was William Nailour of London, Clerk of the Chancery, who married Jane daughter of Richard Duncombe of Moreton, Bucks. Another record from the same visitation records that William Mailour died 10 Oct 1571, this record says that Riochard first lived in Godmanchester then bought the Manor of Offord Darcey. This second record also records a first marriage to Elizabeth (see her notes). The visitation of 1684 records that he died about 1616.

NOTE known from a will proved at London 13 Apr 1656. He lists Eilliam as his eldest son, and a younger brother Richard (apparently still under the age of 20). He lists himself as of Preston Capes, Northants, but talks of land at Barnett (Herts ?) and also in the County of Surrey.. He lists five daughters, Rebecca and Anne both apparently then over 18, and Mary, Jane and Brigett then under 18. Apparently both father and eldest son were smiths, and the father expected the son to teach his brother Richard. He lists a brother John Thompson Tompson and cousin William Gent, who were sitnesses and overseers of the will.
